“Currently the steel business is constantly growing despite the global financial crisis has led this sector to face numerous challenges.

The latter, however, can be overcome with creativity, dedication and above all a lot of passion for this sector, which turns out to be treacherous, but at the same time very fascinating.

Over the past 125 years, around 50 billion tons of steel have been produced. This figure is constantly growing, at a rate of about 3% per year, for a current production of about 1.5 billion tons per year. This growth is also supported by the recent development

of the Asian continent and in particular of China. In the near future, around the middle of our century, production will require about 4 billion tons of steel per year. It is therefore evident that this industry shows no sign of slowing down, on the contrary

it would seem just the opposite. Indeed, the age of steel is only just beginning and "the future will be just as exciting as the present". The world population, according to UN data, in 2010 was around 6.9 billion people while in the next 40 years it is expected to grow up to about 9.6 billion. The current average per capita steel consumption is around 228.6 kg, with a forecast of 3.96 billion tons per year in 2050. By 2050, steel production will have almost tripled. The greater the number of people on our planet, the greater the amount of steel required”
